David Wilson, Principal and Founder of The Wilson Method, is a singer, music conductor, professional voice teacher, senior yoga instructor/teacher trainer, breath therapist, inspirational speaker and creator of Body, Breath & Voice Integrative Therapy and The Wilson Method.
He has Bachelor of Music (University of Calgary, 1991) and a Masters Degrees in music (University of Alberta, 2003), as well as a two-year teacher training certificate as a yoga instructor (Yoga Centre of Calgary, 2005-2007). David has also done a considerable amount of study in the areas of Acupressure, Feldenkrais, Kinesiology, Pilates, Martial Arts, Naturopathic Medicine, Reflexology, Physiology, Therapeutic touch, Life Coaching, NLP, Massage Therapy, Meditation, Myo-fascial work, Qi-Gong, Reiki, Sound Therapy, Trager, Vocology and Voice Therapy.
He is recognized across Canada as the leading authority on the use of Yoga, Functional Vocal Work and Breath Therapy to aid healthy singing and speaking techniques. David also offers training in asthma, COPD and anxiety relief.
He runs a busy studio, teaching singing along with therapeutic techniques for breathing issues, anxiety and panic attacks. David is also a dynamic and engaging public speaker; he leads 30 - 40 workshops and speaking engagements a year to choirs, orchestras, singers, actors, teachers, dancers and office professionals on vocal power, creative freedom, anxiety relief, respiratory health, core strength, somatic movement and public speaking.
David currently holds positions with Edmonton Musical Theatre, Cowtown Opera Summer Academy, the University of Alberta, and the Theatre Arts program at MacEwan University.
