Having upper body tension, fascial restrictions around your diaphragm or lymphatic issues affecting your sinuses is like placing a wet towel in your ‘cello.
While our voice resonates primarily in three chambers (sinuses, oral cavity and pharynx), our entire body is actually built to resonate when we sing.
Wrap a wet towel around the neck of your guitar, or put a soggy towel inside of your string or brass instrument. What’s that going to do for the instrument’s sounding capabilities?
Speakers and Singers: Your body is your instrument. Strengthen the core, release tight muscles and fascia, get your air moving, believe in yourself, improve your flow and you will sing better.
Voice Teachers: Learn psychophysiology and restorative yoga. Stop focusing on the larynx for a minute and learn how the body, mind and nervous system function in relation to the larynx. THAT’S your Vocal Anatomy.
